What is the name of your organization? Do you go by any nicknames or abbreviations?
We are the Multicultural Business Student Association, but we go by MBSA.
What is the purpose/mission of your organization?
The Multicultural Business Student Association believes that diversity is key in today’s business world. MBSA takes that belief and channels it toward building diversity on campus and throughout the Tippie College of Business.
What days/times does your organization typically meet?
Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm in Tippie W181.
Why did you personally get involved with this organization? What makes you passionate about this organization?
“I joined this organization because I wanted to meet people from different places than I’m from because I believe that diversity is incredibly valuable. I wanted to grow personally as well as professionally.”
“I personally joined MBSA because I think diversity in the workplace is important to encourage and discuss. MBSA provides the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people as well as learn professional skills.”
“I joined MBSA to meet people who came from different backgrounds and wanted to embrace that. Being in this organization has given me connections to people from all over the world, something sitting in a classroom could not give me.”
“I joined MBSA in order to gain a broader understanding of different cultures and meet people who come from different backgrounds. As different industries become more global, it is important to be able to work with people different than you. MBSA gives me that opportunity and I have been able to grow both personally and professionally because of it.”
