Why did you personally get involved with this organization? What makes you passionate about this organization?

“I got involved because I’ve been involved with dance since I was young and wanted to continue in college. I stayed involved because being in Dance Club helped me learn a lot about myself and helped me become a leader! I am passionate about this org because of the amazing people in it. Everyone is so creative and I have the BEST time learning from other leaders and members in our group. UIDC is everything to me.”

-McKenzie Story, Jazz Captain and UIDC President

“I got involved in dance club because I have been dancing since I have been 3 years old.. so 17 years total. I can’t imagine my life without it and I thought it would be a great way to meet friends who share the same passion for Dance that I have. I am passionate about dance club because it allows a group of people to get together and create something amazing. We all are able to feed off of each other’s energy and learn from each other. The people I have met reinforces my belief that Dance brings together some amazing and talented people. It’s such a group effort and I think that something special.”

-Kylie Krier, Lyrical Captain

“I personally got involved in this organization because I knew after high school and going to a big school like Iowa I wanted to find a group/club that I could be involved in! After dancing in high school, it was sad to think I wouldn’t anymore so when I heard about dance club I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to find a great group of people and do what I love. I’m passionate about dance club because it has become such a huge part of my college life. Starting freshman year, I began to become more and more involved and meet people. This made dance club take up a lot of my time & it grew to become something so important to me, and now I want it to be the best it can be and have other people experience the amazing aspects of dance club!”

-Lizzy Mastroianni, Co-Event Chair

“I am passionate about Dance Club because of our mission: to provide dance classes and performance opportunities to ANY student, regardless of dance experience or area of study. This mission is similar to the nonprofit Dance Without Limits, of which I’ve been involved with since the day of its conception. It provides dance classes to children and young adults of ALL abilities who may not otherwise have the opportunity to dance. This year, a portion of our profit from Benefit Show will go to Dance Without Limits.”

-Madeline Ungs, Lyrical Captain and UIDC Vice President
